Messonghi is located twenty kilometres South from Corfu Town (Kerkyra) on the east coast of Corfu. It is a traditional Greek village that has not been spoilt by mass tourism although tourists have been coming to this part of Corfu for the past 40 years. The shingle beach, with its calm, shallow sea has plenty of sun beds and umbrellas can be rented. Showers and changing cubicles are situated on the beach. Water sports including pedallos, ringos, banana boat and paragliding are available on the beach. The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag
Along the beach there are tavernas and snack bars with a variety of menus that will suit all tastes. In the evening the many restaurants offer traditional cuisine, fresh fish and international dishes. The tavernas in the settlements of Psara and Boukari are 5 and 10 minutes away by car. There are no noisy discos or bars in Messonghi, but there are plenty of places for a pre or post dinner drink. Moraitika offers more bars and nightlife.
The sister resort of Moriatika is a 10 minute walk away and the Messonghi River divides the two villages.
